The only truly non-toxic DNA stain that is dissolved in water!
TrulySafe™ DNA Stain is a non-toxic DNA stain that is supplied in the simplest of solutions, distilled water. TrulySafe™ DNA Stain can be used either as an “in-gel” stain or as a “post-run” stain. DNA stained with TrulySafe™ DNA Stain can be visualized using a standard UV trans-illuminator or a Blue light trans-illuminator. Essentially, you just “swap in” TrulySafe™ DNA Stain into any existing procedure where you use Ethidium bromide (or the DMSO-based stains) and “Bob’s your Uncle!”
TrulySafe™ DNA Stain can withstand temperatures as high as 100°C. This unique property means that TrulySafe™ DNA Stain can be added to the agarose/running buffer solution before melting of the agarose. Of course, there is always the option of adding the stain when the melted agarose has cooled to 50°C. Post-run staining is also a breeze with TrulySafe™ DNA Stain. And if your lab is budget conscious, TrulySafe™ DNA Stain can withstand the re-melting of an agarose gel.
TrulySafe™ DNA Stain has tested negative in the Ames test (S. typhimurium strains: TA97, TA98, TA100 and TA102; with and without S9 fraction), no mammalian mutagenicity was observed in the Mouse Bone Marrow Micronucleus test (in either female or male mice) and no chromosomal aberrations were found with CHO cells were exposed to TrulySafe™ DNA Stain.
TrulySafe™ DNA Stain is supplied in a 1000 µl aqueous solution and as little as 3 µl can be used per 100 ml of agarose gel.
